GROVER EYE hospital runs several super speciality clinics for the special purpose of preserving sight in sight-threatening conditions such as glaucoma, Uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration etc. The patient receives customized care provided by our specialists since these conditions require regular follow-up. These conditions can cause in some cases asymptomatic and sometimes irreversible loss of vision if poorly treated or neglected. The effect of treatment on the eye may not always be constant and needs to be regularly measured by our specialist.
Diabetic retinopathy clinic - is dedicated to identifying diabetics who are at a risk of developing diabetic retinopathy and providing them with long-term care. It is equipped with PASCAL LASER, digital angiography systems, retinal sonography, various lasers and advanced vitreo-retinal surgery equipment to provide treatment to patients with even the advanced forms of diabetic retinopathy. Macular degeneration clinic - It is a common disorder among the aged population. Digital flourescein and Indocyanine green angiography are used to be able to accurately diagnose the condition. Treatment is provided to patient who require it using the most modern procedures like photo dynamic therapy.
Glaucoma clinic - is a sight threatening and often symptomless diseases and has a strong family history. All patients are screened for glaucoma. Patient suffering from glaucoma are regularly tested using various instruments and parameters. The Humphrey computerised visual field analyser helps track prevention of further damage to the vision. Special Blue-on-yellow software [SWAP] allows early diagnosis of glaucoma suspects, especially those with a strong family history.

Cornea clinic - The Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service provides therapeutic and diagnostic capabilities to handle any disorder pertaining to the cornea including all aspects of anterior segment imaging such as corneal topography and pachymetry.
Laser Vision Correction [LASIK] has been performed by our team since 1996.
Educational programs on the basic sciences in corneal and refractive surgery are scheduled throughout the year for attending physicians.
Squint / Pediatric Ophthalmology clinic-This subspecialty clinic specializes in children with strabismus ("crossed eyes") and amblyopia ("lazy eyes"), with prescription of glasses and full eye exams of infants and children. Adults with strabismus who desire strabismus, or eye muscle surgery are also seen here. However the emphasis of this clinic is on prevention and on primary eyecare for children. Low-stress cataract surgery -The entire surgical experience at our centres has been designed to help patients and their families be as comfortable and relaxed as possible. This "patient first, family-friendly" approach is at the heart of the surgical experience. An important part of our centres' low-stress approach to cataract surgery is the maintenance of familiar routines ie. meals or medications. The surgery is shown on a television screen in a lounge. Phacoemulsification -is a micro-incision technique of cataract surgery wherein anultrasound probe breaks the cataract into tiny pieces and sucks them out. If a foldable implant is inserted the incision size is smaller (2.8 - 3.0 mm) as compared to an approximately 5 mm incision to accommodate a non-foldable lens. Both incisions are self-sealing and need no stitches. We will help you decide as to which lens should suit you best.
Benefits of low-stress phacoemulsification surgery for cataract:
The wound is smaller [resulting in faster healing and visual rehabilitation], the surgical time is reduced, and no stitches are required. There is minimal or no post-operative discomfort and a quick return to your normal routine.
KERATOCONUS AND CORNEAL COLLAGEN CROSS-LINKING -A new treatment for keratoconus which has shown great success is Corneal Collagen Crosslinking with Riboflavin (C3-R®*) and CSO-Vega, a one-time application of riboflavin eye drops to the eye. The riboflavin, when activated by approximately 30 minutes illumination with UV-A light, augments the collagen cross-links within the stroma and so recovers some of the cornea's mechanical strength.
C3-R®*, developed at the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany has been shown to slow or arrest the progression of keratoconus, and in some cases even reverse it, particularly when applied in combination with intracorneal ring segments.
