The first private eye hospital in the region was founded by late Dr. A. D. Grover in 1962. A renowned eye surgeon & philanthropist, he was known far & wide for his clinical acumen, keen observation & surgical skill. The pioneer of free eye camps in this region, his area of work extended to the extremely poor tribal belt of Lohardaga and Khunti in Bihar. Both his sons stepped into his shoes:
